The High Desert Celtic Society, Inc.,
located in Central Oregon, is a family oriented organization formed in 1989. The
Society's goal is to bring people of Celtic ancestry or people with interest in
Celtic history together to plan and organize activities that promote the
heritage of the Celtic spirit.
The HDCS is pleased to provide Central
Oregon communities and schools a learning tool for children and adult education
of Celtic history.
What is Celtic anyway? Pronounced "keltic"
with a 'k', families from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Isle of Mann, Cornwall and
Brittany make up the Celtic peoples. Although in ancient times they spent much
of their time fighting, often amongst themselves, the Celts were a civilized
people. They included many fine craftsmen, artists and musicians
